The night before school was always a bit of a challenge for Emma. She loved her school, but she was a bit of a worrier. As she lay in bed, she couldn't help but think about all the things that might go wrong tomorrow.
Her mom, a kind and patient woman with a warm smile, walked into the room. "Mom, what time do I have to get up tomorrow?" Emma asked, her voice a bit anxious.
"Don't worry, sweetie, we'll get everything done on time. Why don't you listen to your favorite song and try to relax?" Mom suggested, handing Emma her phone.
Emma smiled and started playing her favorite tune, 'Here Comes the Sun.' The music filled the room, and Emma began to feel a bit better. She put on her favorite sleep mask and closed her eyes, letting the music wash over her.
The next thing Emma knew, she was waking up to the sound of her mom calling out from downstairs. "Rise and shine, Emma! Time to get up and get ready for school!"
Emma quickly threw off her covers and ran downstairs to see what was happening. Her mom was making pancakes in the kitchen, and the smell of fresh batter filled the air. "Mmm, pancakes! I love pancakes!" Emma exclaimed.
"I know, right? I was thinking we could make some fun shapes today. How about a cat or a dog?" Mom asked, holding up a bottle of syrup.
"Oh, that's a great idea, Mom! Can I make the cat?" Emma asked, eager to get involved.
As they made their pancakes and ate a quick breakfast, Emma's best friend, Olivia, came over to help Emma get ready for school. "Hey, Emma! How's it going?" Olivia asked, eyeing Emma's messy room.
"I'm a bit worried about tomorrow, that's all," Emma confessed.
"Don't worry, Emma! We'll get through it together. Besides, I heard that the school is going to have a special assembly tomorrow, and I heard it's going to be amazing!"
Emma's eyes widened with excitement. She had forgotten all about the assembly. "Really? What's it about?"
"I don't know, but I heard it's going to be super cool. Maybe it's about a new project or something."
Just then, Emma's mom called out from downstairs. "Girls, are you almost ready to go? We have to get to school on time."
Emma and Olivia quickly finished getting ready, grabbed their backpacks, and headed out the door. As they walked to school, Emma felt a bit more confident. She knew that no matter what challenges tomorrow might bring, she would face them with her friends by her side.
But little did Emma know, something strange was happening at school. A mysterious letter had been sent to the principal, and everyone was buzzing about it. The letter read: 'Meet me at the old oak tree at recess. Come alone.'
Emma's heart skipped a beat as she wondered who could have written such a mysterious message. And what did they want? She pushed the thoughts aside, knowing that she would have to face whatever challenges tomorrow might bring. But as she walked into school, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off...
