Tears rolled down the round cheeks of Pip, a little hedgehog with a tummy full of blueberries. He was sitting under a big oak tree, watching the other animals run a race. Then, a soft, sparkling sound floated through the air. *Ding-ding-ding!* The tears stopped dripping. Instead, two tiny, glowing blue drops fell from his nose and landed on the grass.

*Pop!*

The blue drops didn't vanish. They turned into two small, glowing blue stones that floated up to Pip's hands.

Pip gasped. He looked at his hands, then at the other animals who had stopped their running game. A bright yellow stone floated to Luna, a rabbit with long ears. A sparkly orange stone landed on Barnaby, a bear with a honey belly.

"Oh no!" sniffled Pip, but his voice was happy now. "Why did the tears turn into stones?"

"Oh, hello Pip!" chirped Luna, hopping closer. "It's because we are all feeling sad about the Great Glimmer Race! We thought the path was too long and the finish line too far. But the Glimmer Tree said, 'Sadness is just a cloud that turns into light when you share it!'"

"I knew it!" grumbled Barnaby, though he looked very surprised. "I was feeling grumpy about the honey pot being empty. Now I have a super-hot orange stone!"

"A super-hot stone?" asked Pip, rubbing his cheek. "It feels warm, but it doesn't hurt. It feels like a hug made of light!"

Suddenly, the three stones in their hands began to hum a little tune. *Hum-hum-beep!* The ground beneath them started to glow softly. A path made of silver light appeared right in front of them, winding through the tall grass and over the little river.

"Look!" shouted Luna, her ears perking up. "The Glimmer Path! It only shows up when we have our light stones!"

"Then let's go!" growled Barnaby in a happy voice. "I want to see where the light leads!"

"Together?" suggested Pip, holding his two blue stones high. "One, two, three... race!"

The three friends zoomed down the glowing silver path. It was slippery and smooth, like sliding on ice but without getting cold. They giggled as they bumped gently into each other, their stones flashing blue, yellow, and orange.

Suddenly, the path split into three different directions! One went up a hill of fluffy clouds, one went down a tunnel of twinkling fireflies, and one went straight across a bridge made of bubbles.

"Which way should we go?" asked Luna, spinning in a circle. "The cloud hill looks the most fun!"

"But the bubble bridge looks the bounciest!" said Barnaby, testing his orange stone. "I think we should try the firefly tunnel. It looks the brightest!"

"We can't choose just one!" said Pip, his stones pulsing faster. "The path is waiting for us to be clever!"

Pip's eyes widened. He looked at his two blue stones. *Click-click!* The stones flew out of his hands and rolled forward, merging with the yellow stone and the orange stone.

*ZAP!*

The three stones fused together into one giant, rainbow-colored diamond that hovered above their heads. The path didn't split anymore. It stretched out into three beautiful lanes all at once, like a rainbow ribbon floating in the air.

"Woo-hoo!" cheered Luna, dashing into the middle lane. "We did it!"

"Race you to the finish line!" laughed Barnaby, taking off like a rolling ball in the left lane.

"Wait for me!" squeaked Pip, zooming into the right lane. "My stones feel so strong!"

They ran and slid and jumped through the magical forest. The trees waved their leaves, and the flowers danced to their footsteps. The race felt like a dream, full of colors and laughter.

Just as they were getting close to the finish line, which was a giant chalice made of starlight, the rainbow diamond above them began to shake. It wasn't breaking, though. It was getting bigger and brighter.

"The light is changing!" cried Luna. "It's turning into... something else!"

"What?" asked Barnaby, slowing down. "It looks like it's becoming a big, fluffy cloud!"

"No, it's not a cloud!" shouted Pip. "It's turning into a... a giant balloon!"

The rainbow diamond expanded with a gentle *whoosh*, turning into a soft, glowing balloon that floated up into the sky. It didn't float away, though. It stretched out and wrapped around the three friends, making them float gently just above the ground.

"We're floating!" giggled Luna. "It feels like we are flying to the moon!"

"But we haven't crossed the finish line yet!" said Barnaby, looking down at the starlight chalice. "Now we are too high to jump in!"

"Don't worry!" said Pip, his eyes shining with joy. "If we are a balloon, we can just drift right in!"

The three friends, now a glowing trio of hedgehog, rabbit, and bear wrapped in a rainbow light-bag, drifted slowly toward the finish line. The wind felt like a warm hug, and the stars above seemed closer than ever.

As they hovered right over the chalice, the balloon-light began to glow even brighter, pulsing in time with their happy hearts.

"Look!" pointed Luna. "The chalice is opening its mouth to catch us!"

"Are we going to pop?" asked Barnaby, his voice trembling with excitement.

"No!" laughed Pip. "We are going to fill it with light!"

Suddenly, the balloon-light burst into a million tiny sparkles that rushed down from the sky, pouring directly into the starlight chalice. The chalice began to hum a loud, happy song. *Boing-boing-boom!*

From the chalice, a single, giant, golden tear rolled out. It wasn't a sad tear. It was a happy tear made of pure sunshine. It landed right in the middle of the forest, and where it touched the grass, a brand new race track bloomed out of the ground, made entirely of golden flowers.

"The race never ends!" cheered Luna. "The track just keeps growing!"

"And we never have to stop running!" said Barnaby. "There is always more light to find!"

"I love it!" shouted Pip, doing a happy flip in the air. "Let's run on the flower track!"

They landed softly on the golden flowers, ready to start the next adventure. But just as they took their first steps, the golden flowers started to move, and the path curved in a direction they had never seen before, leading toward a cave that sparkled with diamonds.

"Where is it going?" whispered Pip. "It's leading to a cave!"

"A diamond cave?" asked Luna. "Let's go see what's inside!"

"I wonder if there are any stones inside?" guessed Barnaby. "Or maybe new friends?"

The three friends looked at each other, their hearts full of joy. They took a big breath, and together, they stepped forward into the sparkling cave, ready for whatever amazing surprise was waiting at the very end of the glowing journey.
